Obama Links CA Drought and Climate Change – 2 views

As if dealing with the CA drought is not complicated enough, the President has linked it with climate change and is pressing Congress for billions of dollars to deal with both.
In a speech in CA the president said the U.S. must rethink the way it uses water as he announced new federal aid to help drought-stricken California.

“We’re going to have to stop looking at these disasters as something to wait for. We’re going to have to start looking at these disasters as something to prepare for,” Obama said.

  1. I suggest your readers look at California’s historical data for rainfall. Definitely cyclic. I’d buy the term “climate change” here if the President was not attributing what appears to be natural variation to “pollution.” The statement just doesn’t fit the data.

Having said that, the final line is something I hope we can all sign up to.
