Thanks for this info Claire and great data array from NOAA. Thanks NOAA. Hoping NOAA is given the coastal mapping portion of the NFIP instead of the clowns running it now. Current FEMA NFIP maps do not reflect meteorology or climatology and only the relatively short period of record of hydrological events where the tidal or stream gauges often do not reflect extreme events because they are knocked out by the event. The USACOE also does not reflect the best available scientific and engineering data in their projects due to political influence by those who have no technical training–specifically those in the federal, state, and local government that are unwilling to announce or disclose that projects built with WPA dollars and wage levels cannot now be reproduced by an American economic system in decline due to hijacking by Wall Street.
