A personal note: I have met the mayor and she is a sincere, dedicated public servant.

  1. Thanks for sharing this. The Mayor has shown her sadness about recovery progress by this public statement. Hopefully, the council can develop a new model for addressing the issues in the “east.” The new condition emerging from the continued unfolding of the Canterbury Earthquake Sequence has yet to be understood by the city council, and thus prevents it from forming appropriate solutions.
