From fellow blogger Eric Holdeman: Harvey — Brock Long’s First Real Test
Update: According to this article the hurricane may be a Category 3 when it hits the Texas coast. This could be a big event!
From the Wash. Post, details of a storm that must be taken very seriously.
First and foremost, the residents of Texas, especially those along the coast, need to be in our thoughts and prayers. They will experience something awful in the coming days, weeks and months that fortunately most people will never experience. Here is to a speedy and safe recovery.
This will be a huge test for FEMA and for the sake of Texas, I hope they are ready. However, I have great confidence in the state of Texas as they seem to manage their affairs rather well. Sure that Texas public safety officials at the local, county and state level will respond accordingly and protect their residents.
Not sure I would classify FEMA as a successful orgainization in regards to their “recovery” work based on their past track record but here is an opportunity for FEMA to prove me wrong. Hopefully they will!
