While doing some housekeeping in my personal library ( also known as a storage locker), I turned up this great article. I think it is a terrific article and urge you to read it.
Although the date on this article – Public Leadership In Times of Crisis, by Arjen Boin and Paul ‘t Hart – — is 2003, I find it very pertinent to issues we are dealing with right now in the post-Sandy environment.

People who are interested in an extended treatment of this subject by the same authors may enjoy reading “The Politics of Crisis Management: Public Leadership Under Pressure.” It’s available here: http://www.amazon.com/The-Politics-Crisis-Management-Leadership/dp/0521607337/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367857208&sr=8-1&keywords=politics+of+crisis+management. I don’t know a better book on the topic that combines scholarship and pragmatics as well as this one.
