Interesting cosmic juxtaposition – Krugman calls all Republicans depraved and evil; a few days later we are mourning our 41st President who never disparaged Democrats, but argued with civility against their views.
The climate is changing – almost no one argues with that. The current warming started long before the widespread use of fossil fuels, and has continued to warm by fits and starts ever since. That indicates to me that – whatever the role of CO2 and whatever we do about CO2 emissions – the earth will continue to warm. Although it is not clear that a warmer world would be on balance worse than this one, it is clear that action is needed to deal with the transition, e.g., rising seas and flooding. This sermon convinces only the True Believers of their virtue; it undermines any efforts for bipartisan action.
