  1. When North Carolina homes flood as a matter of routine, public policy is obliged to end the subsidies.

    Woven throughout the article is the theme that de facto subsidized housing is a danger well beyond some communities. Those living in danger zones inherently place emergency responders at grave risk. This equation displays evil.

    Now, if only North Carolina’s Outer Banks and the rest of the Atlantic seaboard’s peril zones could limit the subsidized housing …
