I worked for FEMA during the 1980’s and 90’s when things were so bad that the agency was nearly abolished after Hurricane Andrew. Then there was the Witt era (1993-2000) when I was proud to say that I worked for FEMA, and when international visitors came from all over the world to learn the secrets of our success. Down again for Katrina, up again for Sandy. Looks like it’s down again for now. The next President will have a real job on his/her hands.
Interesting to learn about their history. Sorry it is so checkered.
