I’m afraid that a lot more people are leaving the Left Coast because of disgust with high taxes and bad governance than are even concerned about “climate fires.” Yes, climate migration is real – in the Carolinas we have a lot of “half backs” – Yankees who left the North for Florida, and then got scared by the hurricanes and moved half of the way back from where they started. But these are all people who can afford to move (like the author of that unfortunate piece); personally, I’m more concerned about those who can’t. California has done an abysmal job of managing its wooded lands, not to mention its sorry energy policies which have also contributed to the wildfire problems. The fault is not in our climate but ourselves.
